Crail Festival

The harbour village of Crail, situated in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland, hosts the annual Crail Festival during the third and fourth weeks of July. Nearly 40 events for adults and children spread over 11 days is supplemented by longer-running activities such as a putting green.
Tickets generally go on sale in June, with advance sales to residents of Crail before they are offered on sale to visitors.

The Crail Festival Society is the registered charity that puts on the festival each year. The trustees include Scottish actor Clive Russell, who appeared on the TV series Game of Thrones. Their aim is to put on a fun, affordable family event that showcases the beauty of the area as well as its food, artists, and musicians.

Established 35 years ago, the Crail Festival has evolved over the years, but has included an Arts and Crafts Exhibition since the beginning, with works by both amateur and professional artisans. The festival includes fun activities for all the familiy with games for the children, as well as casino games like the ones your can see here for the adults, ensuring there is plenty of diversified activities for everyone.

Activities at the Crail Festival

The Crail Festival includes many children's activities, recently including archery, a sandcastle and rock-stacking competition, bake-off and scavenger hunt. The festival also include a street market, ceilidh, literary readings and art workshops, theatre performances, and musicians of every genre, from folk, classical to contemporary. A putting green has been part of the festival since 2011 with the assistance of the Crail Golfing Society. The putting green was bestowed with a Community Project award by Beautiful Fife in 2015.
